10 Questions with... Rosie Turner

Hi Rosie, tell us about you and your work…

Hi I’m Rosie! I'm a comedian, presenter and LGBTQ+ TikToker based in London. I have Ulcerative Colitis and I’m plant based. I love travelling, hiking and bright fashion!

How did you hear about Symprove and how long have you been taking it?

I first found out about Symprove in 2019 from my dietitian. I have always had a really hard time with bloating and cramping in my tummy and back then I was avoiding a lot of foods because I was scared of the consequences. Eventually my GP referred me to a dietitian because they were concerned that I was deprived of nutrition and couldn’t digest a lot of foods due to a lack of good bacteria in my gut. My dietitian suggested trialing Symprove, I've been using it ever since.

What motivated you to get involved with Symprove?

I’m now such an advocate for Symprove that I want to spread the message to other people like me.

What does your morning routine look like?

My morning routine varies day to day as I’m often on shoots and have to get up quite early! I usually wake up around 7:30am and head straight to the kitchen to have my shot of Symprove. I then check my emails and organise my to-do list for the day, followed by a big bowl of porridge with coconut flakes and tinned peaches (a weird combination but it’s my favourite!). If I’m not filming anything or needed on a call then I’ll stay in my pyjamas and work for a bit with a big cup of tea, then eventually have a shower and get ready to go out!

Where did your interest in gut health start?

My interest in gut health probably started when I met my girlfriend Charlie, 4 years ago. Even though I was on medication for my colitis and eating better, I still suffered from bad flare ups and vomiting. She is plant based and encouraged me to try the diet. It’s worked wonders for me and I’ve even learnt how to cook some amazing gut-friendly dishes like rice and kimchi. It’s also made me more aware of what I can and can’t tolerate allowing me to regain some control.

Top tips for looking after physical health?

My top tip for looking after your physical health is to pick an activity you actually enjoy! I personally don’t like running or going to the gym but I love hiking and being in nature. I try to walk at least 3 miles a day for my mental health. It’s hard when the weather isn’t so nice but I’ll always stick on my waterproof and get involved.

And your mental health?

I once read a great quote that I now swear by. Imagine that you are a ship and your energy and wellbeing is the water. If you feel drained and haven’t been looking after yourself then your water will disappear and you will grind to a halt on the rocks below, so spend at least 30 minutes on yourself to fill the water back up, then you can get moving again.

Why should people care about Symprove?

Because it actually works! The research and years spent developing Symprove speak volumes. They care about helping people and I really like that.

Sip, slurp, shot or swig from the bottle?
